This is a brand new style for a web site. We are totally extreme, to the maxx and in your face. And sarcastic, I bet you’ve never seen a website that uses sarcasm. Well this one does. Get over it.
My God, that man is sitting on an enormous gun!
Since there are about 600 trillion websites already dedicated to reviewing video games, we knew we had to come up with a good angle. First, we thought we’d go with the “we have no angle” angle. Seinfeld did it so why can’t we? Seinfeld also had extremely talented writers, we do not. So then we thought “if we are just true to ourselves and the games, our humanity will shine through.” But the idea that the writers on bigger, richer sites are writing something that’s false to themselves or creating a personality to sell the site is sort of offensive. Some of those guys probably suck, but most are no different than us (except they have real jobs), so the angle that we would be the only honest, tell it like it is (kind of like the Eminem of game reviews), from the heart journalists died a quiet death.
So what was left? We don’t have any sweet connections who can send us pre-releases of games. We haven’t even modded our systems to play imports. Since professional journalism is best left to Fox News, the only thing we could do is let the site rest on our personalities. Some of us are funnier than others, and some like to indulge in editorial rants about the injustices of the world, most of which clearly manifest themselves in video games. Some of us have been gaming since the mid 80’s, some since a few years ago. Some of us are Sega fanboys, some Nintendo, and then there’s a guy who is neither because those companies mean little to new gamers. Some of us are from rural areas, with lots of corn, and others are civilized and from major cities. There is even a guy from another country on staff!
With a tremendous amount of luck, it will be the mix of writing styles and opinions that will make the site interesting. We are the first to admit it’s a shitty angle, but we were stumped (and no one would go along with the video games/metal suggestion I made – satansjoystick.com). If you have any suggestions, please contact us.
VIDEO LAMER RULZZZZ
For Realz. Videolamer FTW.
You know what I like about this site? The same thing I like about butter – Everything?
Damn, i put a question mark at the end of the previous post. Now, it sounds like I am unsure both about butter and videolamer which is not the case.
I enjoy both of them as much as i enjoy it when a church gets hit by lightning and burns down.
Fight the Machine!
Is it too late for me to cast my vote for satansjoystick.com? cuz that’s where it’s at, and by it I mean teh awesomezors.
