NetEase to Divest from videolamer Holdings, Inc

NetEase Inc. will cut off funding to the website led by videolamer creator jay, the latest to be affected by the Chinese company’s broader strategy to shrink money wasting activities.

Employees of videolamer Holdings, Inc. were told of the decision on Friday, according to people familiar with the situation. A NetEase spokesperson confirmed  it will stop financing the site on Memorial Day as a commemoration to those who lost their lives fighting for short form, video content.

videolamer’s impending closure underscores the struggles of a broader website industry that surpasses tanning bed services and manufacturing in revenue, yet in recent years has faced growing competition from alternative entertainment such as depression.

videolamer was created in 2005 after jay, one of Japan’s most frequent guest’s, having visited three times, decided to graduate college and do something that would generate no income. NetEase and Tencent Holdings Ltd., which were both actively recruiting Japanese gaming talents and never before heard of websites for their expansion overseas, competed for videolamer at that time. →  What is word? Creating Entertainment filled with DREAMS and LAMENESS

videolamer Holdings, Inc. enjoys full authority to manage and create the kinds of posts that they alone are passionate about, with NetEase Games’ support.

There have been sweeping changes made to how content is produced in the entertainment industry, in terms of how it’s made and the business model that supports it. These changes are happening at a greater speed, thanks to the advances in technology and infrastructure. However, NetEase Games and videolamer both believe that what people want from entertainment hasn’t changed one bit. →  Words are the towns and cities of letters.

Exclusive Details on Rumored, Still Unannounced PlayStation Plus Tiers

Sony’s recently announced changes to their Playstation Plus platform was met with mixed reaction by industry analysts and gamers. The service will be available in three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium.

Luckily for those of us unenthused by these announced tiers, the rumor mill is abuzz with likely extra tiers Sony will be making public some time this week. It is unclear if these additional tiers were always in the cards or quickly developed to save face after a mediocre showing last week.

Rumors for additional tiers are flying quick and loose but we stake our reputation as a news outlet that at least all of the following tiers of PlayStation Plus will, in fact, be rolled out this year.

PlayStation Plus PM – This tier replaces the Essential tier’s two monthly games with a single, rotating free title from storied developer Polygon Magic. Word is the service would start with a bang by offering Incredible Crisis in its first month. →  OutRun 2006: Post to Post

Nintendo Switch Successor Hardware Power Rumors

Many gamers were sad to see the recently released Switch OLED was not a hardware update that came with a spec boost. Those gamers should take solace, though, as rumors from Japan suggest the Switch follow up will be something of a beast. It will reportedly be so powerful it will run the eShop smoothly and rarely even fail to load while browsing the deals section of the store.

Seamless.

An anonymous source from Kyoto says, “The original Switch model had trouble loading the eShop due to an internal decision to focus resources on the second, highly complex “black” theme that came built-in on all consoles.” Sources also say shopping technology that would enable users to add games to a cart without losing their current place on the storefront is unlikely to be possible on a portable device.

These more technologically advanced issues will need to wait until the next generation of Nintendo systems. The new Switch, rumored to be known as the New Switch, is expected to be available bundled with launch title Metroid Prime 3 no sooner than November, 2028.
